AN ICON’S STYLE
Riva’s runabouts of the 60s are striking style icons. The relationship with cinema is celebrated since the name of the Aquarama model, inspired by the cinerama format, as were many glamorous figures: Brigitte Bardot, Anita Ekberg, Sophia Loren, Peter Sellers, Richard Burton and Liz Taylor…
But there is one aspect of Riva’s design that, more than others and more technically, is given as an unavoidable stylistic trait: the famous Riva stern. Already at the beginning of the 1950s Carlo Riva combined the surfaces of the ship’s sides, deck and transom into a single compact sculptural body, surprisingly lightened by the tangential lines that include it. Rivable is inspired by this combination of design, trying to compose a synthesis of it into a furnishing object made with care for design, attention to details and the choice of materials: distinctive elements of every Riva’s craft.
